Jay Y. Lee who is the billionaire head of South Korea's Samsung Group was sentenced to jail for 5 years for bribery.
After a six month trial over a scandal which brought down Park Geun-hye (the then President), the court ruled that Lee paid bribes in order to get favour from Park.
Lee was also found guilty of hiding assets abroad and perjury. But Lee denied the wrongdoings, also one of his lawyers said that he would appeal.
Next year this case is likely to be brought all the way up to the Supreme Court. This five year sentence is the one of the longest sentence given in South Korea to a business leader.
