Axon says no to Facial Recognition

Facial Recognition is a phenomenon no longer unknown to anyone. Though it is quite useful for security purposes but is considered as a controversial topic. Axon; the maker of such cameras has decided not to use facial recognition for now. For those who don't know about Axon:
Axon is a Scottsdale, Arizona-based company. It develops technology and products for law enforcement and civilians. It was formerly known as Taser and its initial product was line of electroshock weapons. After that the company started producing different products for law enforcement, including a line of body cameras and Evidence.com, a cloud-based digital evidence platform.
According to them use of facial recognition technology is not ethical and should not be used with the consent of people being affected by it. Also they are of the view that there is no point of using such cameras until their use becomes useful in real lives.Well in my point of view benefit of facial recognition is something that is hard to deny and is quite useful but let's see what Axon will do in future and whether use of facial recognition gets affected by it or not.
