Samsung got sued by an Australian company for making false claims about its phone being water resistant. The advertisements by Samsung show that phone can be used while swimming or surfing while the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) argues that those advertisements are misleading.
According to Samsung adverts their phones have IP68 water resistance, however it does not cover salt water said ACCC. The Australian company further alleges that Samsung has not performed enough testing to testify its claims about the phones having a long life.
ACCC also said that it has reviewed more than 300 advertisements of Samsung
before making any claim while Samsung doesn't agree to these claims and plans to defend the case.
However if Samsung is found guilty it will have to pay a huge amount of fine.
